ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP – Rep. Eric Davanzo (R-Westmoreland), in a partnership with the Westmoreland County Blind Association, will be hosting a Pop-Up Drive-Through Paper Shredding Event on Friday, Dec. 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at his district office at 851 Finley Road, Rostraver Township.
While the Westmoreland County Blind Association will not be shredding the documents onsite, its representatives will be transporting everything back to their facility in lock boxes for secure shredding.
There is no limit to the number of boxes that will be accepted, but interested households and businesses of the 58th District are asked to RSVP by Wednesday, Dec. 16, so enough lock boxes will be available for everyone’s documents.
Residents are asked to remove staples and paperclips from their documents. Transport boxes may be returned to residents or disposed of by Davanzo’s office, per the residents’ preferences.
“Special thanks to the Westmoreland County Blind Association for partnering with me to provide such an important service to the community,” Davanzo said. “Since identity theft is becoming all too common, we have to securely destroy sensitive files. I encourage everyone to take the time to drop off their materials. I guarantee that it will take much less time than the aftermath of becoming an identity theft victim.”
Residents who wish to attend are asked to register online RepDavanzo.com or call the district office at 724-929-2655. The event will be held rain or shine.
