Davanzo to Host Paper Shredding Event

WESTMORELAND COUNTY – Rep. Eric Davanzo (R-Westmoreland) is hosting a free shred event for Westmoreland County constituents through Tuesday, Aug. 23. Residents may bring their material to be shredded to Davanzo’s District Office, located at 119 N. Water St., West Newton, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Westmoreland Health Care Workers to Benefit from Funding, Lawmakers Say

HARRISBURG – Legislation agreed to by both chambers in the General Assembly will provide federal funding to support health care staff in Westmoreland County and throughout Pennsylvania. Overall, seven facilities countywide will receive nearly $2 million to recruit and retain staff, according to lawmakers representing the county in the state House.

Davanzo Sponsors Legislation to Ensure Fair Royalties Between Natural Gas Companies and Landowners

HARRISBURG – Rep. Eric Davanzo (R-Westmoreland) has sponsored legislation that would define what natural gas companies can and cannot deduct from landowners. Pennsylvania currently has a Guaranteed Minimum Royalty Act, enacted in 1979, that stipulates that natural gas companies must pay landowners at least one-eighth of the value of the gas harvested from their property. However, industry standards and lack of clarity in the law has led to some landowners receiving less than a one-eighth royalty payment. House Bill 1763 would clarify how royalty payments are calculated.

Davanzo To Host Human Trafficking Seminar

Davanzo Announces CFA Grant for Sewickley Township

WESTMORELAND COUNTY – Rep. Eric Davanzo (R-Westmoreland) announced that Sewickley Township in Westmoreland County received a Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) grant in the amount of $158,900. The money will be used to make improvements to Crabapple Lake Park.
